Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conducted a visit to meet with national troops in the Pokrovsk area on the weekday. The president confirmed that he consulted warriors at the operational headquarters of the first unit of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya area, a location approximately 20km from Pokrovsk.

Volatile Situation in the Area

Geospatial data from a national effort indicated that Russian forces had advanced deeper into Pokrovsk and nearby locations, though much of it remained beyond firm control by either side. The situation remains critical, with reports indicating that opposition troops were digging in and enhancing fortifications in some districts.

Russian forces are pushing forward in the Pokrovsk front and appear to be operating with enhanced confidence within urban Pokrovsk.

Analysts commented that Ukrainian forces had liberated a significant portion of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya front, on the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk campaign.

Ukrainian Aerial Attacks Within Russian Territory

Ukrainian long-range drones attacked an industrial plant approximately 1,300km inside the federation at Sterlitamak. Regional authorities reported an explosion at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that caused its water treatment facility to suffer damage, adding that the cause of the explosion was unconfirmed. The national defense command stated there was considerable damage to the complex.

Ukraine's military said it struck a petroleum facility at the city in the Russian region in central Russia. The degree of impact was being assessed. The territorial leader verified an assault by 20 drones near the area.

Russian Defense Policy Changes

Russian military reservists will now have to secure petroleum plants against Ukrainian drone strikes after the Russian leader signed a law on the weekday increasing their involvement in the war effort. Russian law prohibits draftees from being deployed to combat, but after their armed forces duty they join the reserve forces, putting them at risk of being assigned to combat zones.

Ukrainian Leader's Calls for Allied Help

Zelenskyy appealed to Washington to continue considering to providing Ukraine with extended-distance arms. Addressing a European Union summit from the eastern front, the national leader also demanded more international restrictions on the nation – including on Russia's gas and nuclear sectors – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU before 2030.

International Assistance and Diplomatic Developments

The federal republic plans to boost armed assistance to the eastern European country by €3bn next year to about €11.5bn, the economic authority in Berlin said on the weekday. This includes, among other things, artillery, drones, military transports and the exchange of missile defense equipment.

Norwegian munitions maker the company has signed a letter of intent with a local manufacturing firm to produce, develop and sell ammunition in Ukraine.
